Hello. My name is Lou, and I'd like to thank you for stopping by and looking at my photos. We cannot travel into the future, at least not yet, but we can travel back in time with the use of photography. When we snap the shutter to capture the present, that photo instantly becomes the past and a memory to relive over and over again.
My equipment consists of a Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 450D, a.k.a. the Rebel XSi, along with numerous lenses, filters and other necessities. I started taking photographs when I was about age 10 when my father gave me a Kodak Brownie camera but have only gotten really interested over the past few years. Its taken me a long time to know what I want to be when I grow up which is to be a really good photographer and share my art with the world, and I'm working hard every day on achieving that goal. I guess it was inevitable that I arrive at this point since I remember my father having his own darkroom when I was a kid. He would take the pictures, and my mother would paint them with photographic oils. There is a family legend about an ancestor who was also a photographer and an invertor but, unfortunately, a gambler as well. He is said to have held the patent for pictures to be printed on paper instead of tin type as they were done at that time. He was in a poker game, felt he had a winning hand but nothing to put into the pot to stay in the game except for his patent. He lost it to a man named "Mr. Eastman." Of course, this is probably not true, but it makes for a very interesting family story nevertheless.
I live in the Atlanta, Georgia, area and have been married for 38 years. I am the mother of five and the grandmother of three. My husband also takes photos but has a degree in Fine Arts and is more interested in other fields but he lets me drag him along when I want to go out and take pictures and acts as an excellent second photographer on wedding shoots.
Anyway, again, thank you for looking. Please stop by again as I am always on the go, with camera in hand, and adding more pictures to my site.
